“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace…”
- 2 Timothy 1:9, KJV
God has been calling thousands of people all around the globe for a couple of millenniums now. He’s a gentle God yet He can call you by hook or by crook. He might quietly knock at your heart, or call you softly by your name as what he did with Samuel or just like Jonah, he might forcefully use a raging storm and a big fish to get your attention to do his command.
He is an all-powerful God, but he needs someone to fulfill his will. He’s got tons of miracles in mind but he needs someone to dare take the wand of faith. He needs someone bold enough to lead thousands of sick people to the mighty Healer. He needs someone with dauntless courage to speak the words of truth. He needs someone who is so compassionate to mind others other than himself. He is a worshiped being, an omnipotent Creator. He alone can perform magical things but this ain’t supposed to be. He needs me. He needs you. He needs us.
Therefore, it is our pleasure to be partakers of the divine calling. Today, I am reminded that there is no higher profession given on earth than the profession of attending to the calling of God.

I love the last part. because it’s true. it is our honor to be called by God into His marvelous love and will. we do not deserve it, but He is rich in mercy. thanks auie for reminding me again how glorious and honorable the calling of God is.
actually, you do. you are the one who’s always reminding me of this exemplary position we have in God’s vineyard.
Oh, glory to God
